Founded in 2021 by
Jennie LaCovey and Shannon Arnold.

Jennie spent years working in talent agencies, while Shannon built her career as a lifelong entrepreneur. Both kept hearing the same frustrations from talent… feeling overlooked, treated like a number, or left without a response. Seeing the need for an agency that truly puts clients first, especially in underrepresented communities, they decided to combine their experience in talent and business. Drawing on years of collaboration and shared vision, they founded More Meaningful Voices (MMV) to help people feel seen, supported, and empowered to achieve their dreams.
MMV = 2005 in Roman Numerals, the year Shannon & Jennie met.

Jennie LaCovey | Co-Owner/Agent

Hailing from our nation's capital, Jennie LaCovey grew up studying ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical and character. She also had the pleasure of being a part of the Young Americans of Washington, a musical theatre performing troupe that performed all over the DC metropolitan area including The White House, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, as well as multiple productions of A Chorus Line.

She continued her studies of ballet, jazz, modern, and Dancing for the Camera in college. Jennie graduated Cum Laude from Towson University in Baltimore, MD with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic Media and Film with a Television Track, after interning at MTV Networks and National Cable Communications in New York, as well as Central Casting Agency in Washington, DC.

Jennie had been with LA based talent agencies since 2007. She became an agent for professional dancers and placed them on jobs ranging from music videos, television shows, films, world tours and everything in between. She was an agent with LA’s top dance agency until 2021. Some of her favorite projects include Michael Jackson’s last world tour, The Greatest Showman feature film and multiple National tours of Hamilton. She has worked with thousands of performers and has relationships with Casting Directors, Choreographers and more.

Shannon Arnold | Co-Owner/Agent

Shannon was born and raised in Los Angeles, surrounded by strong, inspiring women. With five moms; including one who founded a women’s business networking organization two years before Shannon was born she grew up immersed in entrepreneurship. From attending networking meetings as a baby to facilitating events and public speaking by age 16, Shannon received a hands-on business education unlike any other.

In 2010, she launched her first venture, a dog walking and pet sitting service that continues to thrive today, combining her love for animals with her entrepreneurial drive.

Shannon moved to New York in 2015 to be with her now-wife, Jacqueline, whose performing career kept her rooted there. Through her wife, Shannon built deep connections in the theatre community; meeting actors, agents, and casting directors. When her longtime friend Jennie relocated to the East Coast during the pandemic, they saw the perfect opportunity to create a new kind of agency.

With a lifelong passion for theatre (her first show was South Pacific at Lincoln Center at age seven), a gift for building community, and a deep commitment to helping others, Shannon has found her most rewarding role yet as a talent agent.

Agent | Nicole P. Sarro

Nicole P. Sarro is a talent agent representing a selective roster of artists working across Broadway, national tours, film, and television. As one of few Latinas in talent representation, she is known for her strong advocacy and commitment to representation that reflects the world we live in. She is on a mission to revolutionize the agent-client relationship, bringing a thoughtful, strategic approach to building lasting, collaborative partnerships.

As a former actor, Nicole brings a firsthand understanding of the industry. Originally from Los Angeles, she holds a BFA in Musical Theatre and pairs her creative background with experience in the business world, having worked across a range of industries at international firms and helped launch and scale startups. This informs her approach, grounded in systems, structure, and long-term strategy.

She has quickly developed a reputation for her sharp instincts, strong industry relationships, and direct, transparent communication style. She works closely with her clients to identify opportunities across theatre, film, and television, with a focus on building sustainable, long-term careers.

At More Meaningful Voices (MMV) Talent, she is proud to support a roster that centers Global Majority and LGBTQ+ artists, advancing a standard of representation that is both authentic and reflective of the world we live in. She is based in CT, where she lives with her family and wears many hats: mom and cheer carpool captain to her daughter, Paloma; wife and agent to actor and podcaster JP; and resident snuggler to their rescue dog, Blitzen.

Head of Digital | Rachel James

Rachel James brings years of experience at the intersection of creators and brands. Known for being firmly in the corner of talent, she has built a reputation for advocating for creators while delivering strategic, results-driven partnerships. With a deep understanding of both “brand speak” and “talent speak,” Rachel seamlessly bridges the gap between the two, championing talent while maintaining the authenticity at the core of each creator she represents.

Originally from Ohio, Rachel grew up with a passion for dance, performing both competitively and professionally throughout her teenage years. She went on to attend Elon University, where she double majored in Dance Performance and Arts Administration. Following graduation, she began her career in Los Angeles at one of the industry’s leading dance agencies, working across both the dance and choreography departments.

After several years in the agency world, Rachel transitioned into the digital space at DanceOn, a production and media company focused on dance and music, where she served as Director of Talent & Social. Building on this experience, in her role at More Meaningful Voices (MMV), Rachel continues to build and scale a talent-first digital division focused on meaningful partnerships.
